My sweet little DJ.
He’s my nephew. I’m not even going to make-believe he’s not. I love him to pieces and I was sooooo glad I was able to document him so little. He’s Angie & Danny’s son. And, if you remember from their session blog post, I was nervous about working with them. It wasn’t any different with DJ’s session.
He was born, we got the call, and that weekend we drove to the west coast (Ft. Myers) to meet him. I took my newborn set up and all the goodies, JUST IN CASE, I could get his session in. When we arrived there was a living room full of people that love him and his parents. Of course, I had no idea they would be there, so I walk in with my photography things in my hands, my husband’s hands, my Tweedles’ hands… Haha. By the time some people leave and some settle in another space of the living room and I set up, there are 17 people there; including me and the baby.
So, here I am setting up and starting to shoot with this many people and with my husband and sons. Even though I have worked other sessions and weddings with the hubs, he had never seen me with a newborn. I’m nervous that I have so many people watching me, but I work, of course.
DJ must love me very much because he was an absolute dreamy baby with me!! I wrapped him up nice and snug after his milk and he just let me pose him with ease. He didn’t want to open his fists though. They say he was the same in utero, and they’d see his fists in the ultrasounds! While trying to pose him, he did grab my finger and before I pulled away, I had to snap proof of it. Because it was too sweet not to. <3
Here are some highlights from our evening together.
